Hello everyone! Guess what, I'm back with a very interesting experience. I was actually planning on making a video out of this, but then decided it was kind of repetitive, cos each day was quite similar and it wouldn't make for very interesting content. Thus, I felt a blog post could cover it all a little better.
On the topic of videos, my Youtube channel has just hit 2000 subscribers! Woohoo! Thought I might just keep you in the loop on that, cos I'm posting there quite regularly (well, a lot more regular than I post on this blog haha). Thank you all! Without you guys, I would be useless HAAHAHAH jokes i still am quite useless, but a little less so with your support :3
Anyway, this title already gave away what I'm discussing in this post. It's all about weight loss and detoxing with SCHKINNY MANINNY, a really interesting juice/soup cleanse company, based in Australia. I find their service a fascinating one, especially since it's in the detoxing field, which I've always been quite wary of and tended to stray away from. I've always heard that detoxing is kind of a fad, which doesn't really work. Well, I'm always trying to lose weight, as can be evident in my previous tea detox post too (Hahah!), so I thought, hey if something is not working, change it up and approach it differently. As Einstein once said, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity. So I'm just trying all sorts of methods and seeing which one fits me personally, with my schedule and love for food hahaha.
So I just want to talk about detoxing first, cos it's an interesting topic. Now, take careful note guys, I am NOT any kind of health expert - far from it, but this is just information I read online haha. And like they say, you can't believe everything you see on the Internet. Detoxing is basically where you avoid toxins entering your body - usually through a diet. In this case, I went through a gruelling 3 day Juice/Soup detox, where I literally ate no solid food, and just consumed six bottles of soup and juice a day. The point of it is to rid the toxins from your body, so in a way, I don't think you are necessarily meant to lose weight off it - instead, that's more like a side effect to detoxing. Many articles online speak of the dangers to detoxing, such as muscle deterioration, hair loss, protein deficiency etc. etc. Now, I got really scared of all these side effects, but in the end I took one for the team to find out what all the fuss was about.
I think it's ok to do if you are on a 3-day detox or something, just to do some quick cleansing. But definitely those people that do it for 3 weeks need to be well prepared, mentally and physically, otherwise it could be a real danger to your body. Also, I don't think we should use detoxes to starve ourselves and lose weight - because the main point is flushing toxins out. I found that a good side effect was getting used to healthier consumption of food and not snacking out of boredom after the program, which definitely helped with weight management (though I fell back into my classic hole of fattyness, so I really need to get a hold of myself again!). If you're just curious to see how it is, Schkinny Maninny is the way to go because they offer you all types of options of cleanses, short or long, fruit or soup or both, with a garden salad and more. They deliver to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane DAILY, from Monday to Friday, so it's very easy and you don't have to think about making food for those days haha!

So they are actually cold pressed juice detox program to clear toxins, kickstart metabolism and get you feeling fresh and healthy. Their six reasons to order the juice detox include:

1. Increased energy
2. Relieve illness
3. Glowing skin
4. Healthier liver (by giving it a break)
5. Convenience
6. Support

For 3 days, the price is quite steep at $175.00. But tbh, you get 6 pressed juices PER day, made of fresh, organic, pressed fruits. It's not like some banana and strawberry shake sourced from your local woolies. The customer service at Schkinny Maninny is also INCREDIBLE! They responded very quickly to emails, kept me updated, encouraged me during the detox and had helpful bits of information in their juice packs. Everything is so meticulate and thought out, which I thought was just lovely. They came in separate eskys for each day.

Now, let's go to the diary of the three days and my thoughts on each of the juices!
Day 1: Easy Peasy
Day 1 was pretty simple, though I did break at dinner time and had sushi because I forgot my dinner juices LOL. Already failed first day in. But I tried to stay light, and just had some sashimi. Anyway, I woke up mega excited about my first day of cleanse. I was curious as to what the juices would taste like, since they all sounded like exotic and wonderful combinations of vegetables and fruits.
Each day you also get a little pamphlet giving you encouragement and letting you know what is happening to your body, as well as some dos and don'ts. They provided a little cup of seeds for munching on in case you needed to exercise your mouth.
As you can see, I had the six juices below to enjoy. The juices are also numbered, as you have to drink them in a special order for the detox to be effective, as their ingredients perform different miracles on your body. Also, you don't get TOO hungry because in total, the juices contain like 1500 calories, so it's not like you are starving your body of its nutrients. 1500 calories is more than my target daily intake!!

In the morning I had the Schkinny Leap Frog. It was the similar to the day before - but I don't think this one had watermelon in it :( Made me sad cos watermelon is my life choice of fruit. It was pretty tasty, nothing special and I just continued the day as usual.

For morning tea, I drank the Schkinny Pine Grapple. This was pretty tasty! Some standard fruit juice stuff, but nevertheless, it tasted good and I continued feeling happy and chill for Day 2.

Lunch time was when disaster struck. They had allocated something called Schkinny Creme of Spinach soup. It was an alien green colour, so I was already feeling very wary of the soup. Plus, when I poured it out into the bowl, it looked mushy and lumpy. ZZZzzzzz.... anyway, I tried to spice it up by adding some pepper but NOPE - nothing could fix that taste. It had lemon juice in it, which made it so sour, but it was creamy, so the taste was not right at all for me. I didn't even get through half my first bowl and I just had to chuck it out - otherwise I would be throwing it up. HAhaha. I guess that's a downside of this program. If you get sent stuff you don't like, then you starve. I was left feeling pretty hungry for the rest of the day, till afternoon tea.

Breakfast was Schkinny Leap Frog once again. I'm kind of glad I won't be having this one anymore. I get bored really easily, so 3 days in a row and I'm pretty much done! hahah the excitement has worn off.

Morning tea was the BEAUTIFUL pink sherbet, which is one I don't think I'd be getting sick of anytime soon, because it was just simply delicious. A bit sour and a little bit sweet from the watermelon. Craving one right now.

Go shopping for Kfashion with Heylinni!

Hey everyone! It's Heylinni here (haha I bet if you watch my Youtube vids, you'll have read that in my voice). It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks - had lots of work, currently got some huge, crazy group assignments, but luckily it's the long weekend! I'll be relaxin and enjoying life a bit you know. haha jokes lots of meetings for assignments and stuff today as well. Pretty rip. What else what else? Ah, I'll be starting a subscription box service soon - well not really subscription I guess. Kind of like, you can buy the box whenever you want and whatever quantity you want. Not ties to subscriptions if you don't wish it. But yeh, that should be open on the 1st June, so keep your eye on my website www.kiyobox.storenvy.com :) I'm really excited because it'll be like a surprise box every month for you, for your Asian fashion and beauty needs! The clothes I picked out are really cute - got a couple sent my way for quality assurance, then I'll order more stock zz hehe. Hopefully you all support me on this because it's been a lot of work and I don't really know what I'm doing. Just going along with the ride.

Anyway, today's post is all about StayLeanTea. It's been a part of my journey to weight loss HAHAH. Now, I know I'm not that fat, but I'd still like to be fitter. It's not a great thing that I'm not 100% ok with my body - cos obviously that sends a bad image/way of thinking to all the girls out there who read my blog. But look, I know it's important to love yourself, which I do! But sometimes, wanting to improve yourself and become healthier can be beneficial too. Though don't listen to my words because I'm definitely no role model hahahh that's just how I think.

They've sent me this brilliant and cute postcard with a 10% off code on it. Just enter THANKYOU22 in their discount section and you can get 10% off your purchase! Easyy bargains.

The Stay Lean Tea cleanse consisted of a 2 week regime. It's super easy, you just have to remember to make the tea every morning and afternoon. And this just becomes routine after about 3 days, making it the best way to reduce hunger and get thinner. Stay Lean Tea sent me 2 types of tea bags. Firstly, there was the Lean Cleanse - consisting of 7 pyramid tea bags. You can read all the instructions in the photo below but let me give you a basic run through, in case you ceebs reading it. I had one of these tea bags every second day in the afternoon, to cleanse the digestive tract and speed up detoxification. I think this is the one that makes you go to the toilet more often, but to be honest, after reading that I got a little scared, so I skipped this one a few times. It does however, contain natural ingredients such as chamomile, chrysanthemum, rose flower, lavender, roselle, lemongrass and green leaf - all to help detoxy the body in their organic ways.

The tea bags themselves were so pretty. They are in this chiffon-y material, which seems so classy and expensive. They have a little label attached, with Tea written in such beautiful font, that it's almost like an Alice in Wonderland treat, just screaming 'Drink me'.

Now, during the cleanse, I did notice a bit of weight loss and definitely less hunger. Probably because I was getting liquids in me, instead of just craving solids the whole time. I think my main problem is I don't drink much water - one of the most important things for health and weight loss :( I hope to fix up this bad behaviour, but it is very difficult as weirdly enough, I don't like the taste of water! Anyway, I saw like weight loss of around 2 kg because of just drinking this tea and being healthy and controlled with food too. I really don't think the lean burner one did that much or detoxified my body, but to be honestly, I didn't really stick to the plan with that one, so it could have been a much higher weight loss number.

The hardest thing after the cleanse is sticking to a diet of healthy foods. With so much option of cafés and eating out with friends, it's hard to stay on a balanced diet :( I definitely feel like I've gained it all back and more since then, but hey, there was this great period where I just felt skinny, fit and really confident in my body for once. Let's hope I can get back to that again with just eating healthy and doing lots of exercise. I'm finding losing weight really difficult - it's like the harder I try, the more I gain :( Main things I'm sticking to right now is diet, exercise, water and sleep! And much less eating out (waste of calories AND money!).

Alright alright, now I said I would stop promoting my Youtube vids here, I know :) BUT, I'm still chucking my Autumn lookbook here for today, simply because I want to introduce to you and take you through my experience with FashionLane, the site where I discovered beautiful beautiful discounts that allowed me to buy these clothes :')
So first off, let's get all the silly promotion stuff out of the way... here is the videoooooo:

I'm actually pretty happy with it. I see it as part 2 of my Style Lookbook series with the Polo Lookbook being the first part. That was one of my proudest videos to date so make sure you guys all watch that!! This one has the same squiggles and doodles, as well as fast cuts and strange editing - I've also added a little bit of story into it! Basically, it's showing that fashion can make any gloomy day fun and interesting :D Hehe that's the beauty and creativity that fashion brings.

Anyway, the point of this post was to do a short introduction on FashionLane to you guys. Just because I found it was a super easy place to navigate and find a centralised location to discover all the current ongoing discounts and sales. It's a startup founded in 2014, by two 'bootstrap' entrepreneurs who wanted to aggregate sales and coupon codes from all different fashion boutiques and present them in order of biggest discount. This makes online shopping so much more convenient for all of us. Especially me personally, I like to browse online only to find the best sales and buy those clothes. Because essentially, I find that buying clothes online and in person without sales is pretty much same price, but you just get online stuff slower because of shipping. FashionLane already incorporates up to 208 online stores including ASOS, Bonds, Boohoo, General Pants and THEICONIC for women.

The website itself also looks really clean and professional, so you feel more compelled to go on it. Honestly, if the website was ugly, I wouldn't even look twice at it, because it just makes me feel uncomfortable and untrusting, as if it wasn't legit. FashionLane splits the sales into a couple of sections - women, men, girls, boys, brands, stores and today's sale. It's got an up to date system, so everything is quite real time and you don't get the case where you see a sale on there, go to that particular store, and it turns out the sale actually ended yesterday! That's actually the worst!! haha

For me, I was only interested in Shop Women's so let's go through there, and I'll take you through my user journey to finding fun, interesting and affordable clothes for my uni budget.

When you click on Shop Women's, it'll take you to the main women's navigation page for searching products. The website is clear and easy to use. There is a side bar for all navigation purposes. You can filter whatever you like, so products can be customised to your preferences. One complaint I'd give though is that they give SO many options to filter things just splat on the page - I'd probably recommend putting some things in a drop down list or radio button.

Let's take a closer look at the side navigation bar. Firstly, you can choose whether you only want to see sale items. The second part is looking at WHEN the price dropped. I have no idea what this does for you, or what value it really brings. Maybe the more recent ones are better because they're less likely to have expired coupons? Or idk, maybe some pro uers select a certain day for strategic purposes hahah. Next, you can select the price range, so you could just choose to filter to $0 - $5 if you like hehehe! To save more money, you can also select a minimum discount rate. Then, you are able to choose which gender clothes you are looking for, as well as filtering down even more to the category - clothing, accessories or shoes. On the contrary, if you have no particular preference, just leave it be and let the site show you their magic.

The last thing you can select in this side bar is the shop or brand you want to look at. I've just chosen four: ASOS, Boohoo, Rebel Sport and The Iconic. There is a huge selection catered towards any girl with any style here.

After doing all the filtering, you can see all the search results. As you can see, they are now displaying clothes with awesome deals from on the four brands I picked. And wow, those are some deals haha from $119 to $9.50? WTF crazy. Sometimes on the top of the search results, they will also display all the general coupon codes for each site - for example, if The Iconic has 60% off everything if you enter a code, FashionLane will show that deal right at the top.

Another cool feature is this email notification. Basically you have set your styles and preferences, so when you click 'Set Sale Alert' in the top right hand corner, it'll give you a popup alert. This prompts you to put in your email address so you can constantly monitor the sale prices, without having to keep coming back and revisiting the page. This makes the whole user experience so much more convenient and awesome.

To view more details about the product, just hover over the product. It'll show the brand, which sizes are remaining, when FashionLane last checked the discount and some more information/options. If you click on to buy the product, it'll take you to the actual online store you were looking at.

FashionLane isn't a retailer - they're merely a shopping site for finding the best fashion sales. If you have a store you want included, simply submit a store request to get them added to the list.

So what did I end up buying? Everything from THEICONIC! I discovered through FashionLane that THEICONIC was having a 40% off sale, so I got heaps of things for really cheap (cos they were already on sale tooo.
