Monthly Kawaii Box + June Kawaii Box Giveaway

By heylinni - 11:06 AM

It seems to me like subscription boxes are all the rage nowadays, with popular beauty one's like Memebox, Birchbox or GlossyBox, I too have fallen for their playful, interesting quality. Subscription boxes are basically monthly boxes that you 'subscribe' to by paying a certain amount each month, and in return, they send you a box filled with products that reflect any the theme of the box. I've seen the unusual and fun boxes, like the geek box, nail polish ones, shoes subscriptions and even wine boxes! The trend is definitely becoming more prominent as technology advances, since this is very much an online thing.

I have actually been looking around, trying to find a cute Japanese goods box for ages, before the lovely KawaiiBox.co contacted me and asked if I'd like to try out their new Kawaii Box. How perfect is that? Of course, I was heaps excited to receive this box, not knowing what kinds of things would be inside it. This one is relatively new and is $16.90/month (free shipping ofc). You can use PayPal and can also cancel your subscription ANYTIME. KawaiiBox includes 10-12 super cute items, and the retail value is probably higher than the $16.90 per month. I think this is a must-have for any Japan or Kawaii fanatic, because you get access to all these cute sweets and toys from Japan, for an affordable price. Also, I believe that half the fun is not knowing exactly what you'll receive. It's very much like getting a birthday present every month!

The box arrived after 1.5 weeks, which is the standard time for Blippo. It came with sturdy, white packaging and a 'Kawaii Box' sticker. Apart from that, it's not particularly Kawaii though, like their normal Blippo (parent company) packaging :( I love it when they draw little cartoons on the boxes :)
And inside is so cute! There's a sweet note and lots of pink crepe paper to protect the goods.
Aw, this really evokes the kawaii atmosphere of the box :) The card is so bright and colourful, and it is shaped so cute. I feel like they really went out of their way in terms of customer service, to make us ultimately enjoy the kawaii experience.
And here are the contents of the box! It is absolutely stuffed with all sorts of little knick-knacks, like keyrings, candy, accessories, stickers etc. I think that although these kinds of things might not be the most useful, they definitely are great to have as little aspects that brighten up your life and leave smiling for the rest of the day :)
Firstly, there's a Rilakkuma pillow keyring, which is blue and yellow. It's soft, very sleek looking/feeling and it's perfect for hanging on your backpack. The quality feels very good and it's overall aesthetic is super kawaii.
Next, I'm not sure what this is...? It's like a card, but it legit has no use. I don't even know what to do with it, except put it in my wallet, but I suppose I could use it to decorate something or other. Wasn't too sure about this one. I thought it might have been a sticker but the back doesn't peel off.
Yay, another keyring! This is one big Hello Kitty and it is so adorable. The plush comes in really good condition, it's super squishy and soft. Also, I really like what the Hello Kitty is wearing because it's quite oriental and positively patterned :)
Here's one of the classic bread keyrings. The decorations on top of it were a bit disintegrated, but I love the look of the hundreds and thousands because they seem so real! Also, the bread smells really nice, like one of those asian bakery's! MMmm ;) And if you feel stressed, this is perfect because it's squishyness is like a stress ball.
This is one of the weird but wonderful items in the box. It's a face towel, in the shape of a sushi! Perfect for travelling and it reflects the culture of Japan and kawaii really well. I also like that they gave me some pins to hold it together, as well as real wasabi and soy sauce in the fish bottle (except i think they're past their best before date :S) Anyway, this is perfect for travel and I think I would use it quite often.
Mmm, this has got to be my favourite thing in the box. Every Kawaii Box is guaranteed to have some form of Candy or snack and what's better than Japanese candy? This one is a chewy, that tastes like sparkling lemonade. It's very delicious and reminds me of Zappo's, except with a better flavour.
Another cute and useful product. These little icecream hair ties are super cute and I'd love to wear them on the weekends to add that touch of kawaii to my outfits. I especially love the little bite out of them that reveals a chocolatey inside ~~
This is a My Melody laneyard. I think it'll be perfect to hang my car keys off, when I get my own car. It is bright and easily identifiable, so there's no possibility that I'd be losing my car keys too often!
A pack of cartoon bandaids. Though I don't use bandaids very often, these are so cute they make me want to fall over just so I can use them. They are bright blue (my favourite colour!) and each have a unique design.
This stationary set will be useful for my studies this year. There are two pencils and an array of different erasers which you can stick on the ends of the pencils, effectively allowing you to customise them however you want. I've tried the erasers and they work very well, which is a plus. (I hate when erasers make the page dirtier than you had originally!)
They've also added quite a few sticker items. This is a deco set of pearls which I can use for my phone/laptop/hard drive/etc etc. It adds that little bit of bling to each of your items, to make them look extra special.
And finally, they've sent a sheet of computer key stickers. I used to be obsessed with these, and buy a set every term to stick on the keys of my school laptops. But nowadays, I prefer to keep my keyboard very clean and simple - so I'll probably give these to a friend. But the pictures on these are very cute and they are also easy to take off without leaving sticky residue.
So that's a short summary on each of the items inside the Kawaii Box of May! I really liked carefully taking out each item and discovering what it was. I'm happy with the contents of the box, especially the candy and keyrings and would love to THANK Kawaii Box for sending me this piece of kawaii in the mail.
What's even more generous of them is that they've agreed to sponsor a Giveaway for you guys to win next month's Kawaii Box!! How awesome is that? You can have the same experience I've had with some mysterious kawaii products. The giveaway will be INTERNATIONAL and will be open for the next two weeks. It will end on the 15th June at 11:58pm.
